Carthage track member Daryl Martin told Prep Sports that the most fun he had in the last year was “watching my sister perform in show choir.” Saying “it was her last year doing it and I wasn’t really able to watch her in previous years but just seeing her perform being in her own world putting on the biggest smile, and me being able to help set up everything so they could perform it was just a really fun experience, especially getting to know everyone and finding some new friends along the way.”
In terms of his favorite athletic memory Martin shared that that would be “going to KU relays, because I got to hang out with all my track teammates and just have fun with them, and get to know them better.”
When asked to name a particular teammate who has had the greatest impact on him, Martin named fellow runner Tyler Burt. Telling us that it’s “because he showed me how to be a good teammate, how to lead everyone, what needs to be done to be a good athlete, and make other people good athletes.”
Martin also relayed that his favorite thing about being on this team is “the people on it, yea they give you crap all the time but when it comes down to an important run they’re right there cheering you on.”
